What is MailMacho and how does it work?
MailMacho is a managed SMTP infrastructure platform built on Mailcow. We provision dedicated mailboxes and relay servers for your team or clients, and provide real-time analytics on delivery, bounces, and spam rates — all in one dashboard.
How does MailMacho detect bounces?
We use a combination of Postfix DSN (Delivery Status Notifications) and a dedicated bounce inbox to capture every hard and soft bounce. Each bounce is classified by type and the failing domain (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and attributed to the exact sending mailbox.
Can I connect MailMacho to n8n or Zapier?
Yes. MailMacho fires webhook events for every bounce, allowing you to trigger automations in n8n, Zapier, or your own system. You can auto-update CRM records, flag leads, or pause mailboxes the moment a bounce is detected.
Is my sending infrastructure shared with other customers?
Mailboxes are hosted on shared Mailcow servers to keep costs low, but outbound sending goes through isolated relay servers per client. This means no other client's sending behavior can damage your IP reputation.
What sending tools work with MailMacho SMTP?
MailMacho works with any tool that supports custom SMTP — including Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist, HubSpot, and custom Node.js or Python scripts. You get full SMTP credentials per mailbox.
What's the difference between hard and soft bounces?
A hard bounce (5xx error) means the email address is permanently invalid — the recipient doesn't exist. A soft bounce (4xx error) is temporary — the mailbox is full or the server is busy. MailMacho tracks both separately so you know which leads to remove vs. retry.
Can I white-label MailMacho for my agency clients?
Yes. Agency and Enterprise plans include a white-label client portal where your clients can log in, view their mailbox stats, and place orders — all under your brand, not MailMacho's.
Will MailMacho updates break my server configuration?
No. All custom Postfix configuration uses Mailcow's official override system (extra.cf), which persists across Mailcow updates. Your bounce routing and relay setup will never be wiped by an infrastructure update.
